22nd Women’s Day: CIPCRE at the heart of the celebration

Placed under the theme "violence against women and young girls: break the silence and speak out ", the International Day of the Woman (IDW) was, for the entire staff of CIPCRE, men and women alike, an occasion to reaffirm their attachment to the promotion of gender, and an opportunity to revisit the themes of violence against women, which it has made a battle for nearly three years now.
On the eve of D-day, 5000 sensitisation leaflets were produced and distributed in Bafoussam and surrounding towns. The objective was to dissuade women from many misbehaviours of which they often guilty on March 08, which here, coincides with the regional fair of the West. The main messages on these bills were:
 "Women, no to waywardness";
"Women, no to alcohol and other vices"
"Women, let us respect ourselves to be respected! »

Two banners and three sensitisation placards were also made on which the  official theme of the Day was carried in addition to messages concerns specific to CIPCRE as regards the plea for the woman of Cameroon: Yes to women’s dignity " ," Plea for the woman in Cameroon: no to the sale of our daughters through a poorly understood practice of dowry";
If one of the banners was hoisted downtown, the other as well as the placards decorated the march past, allured by the service of CIPCRE: not only did male and female employees march together, an employee simulated the condition of a widow: wearing a white dress, she carried a raffia fibre bag and exuded an easily comprehensible air of sadness.
