CIPCRE Cameroon and the Head Office The Board Chairman and his vice on visit In order to verify reports of field activities reaching them, that, the Board of Directors of CIPCRE paid a visited CIPCRE projects in Bafoussam on 14 and 15 February 2008. The board was represented by its chairman, the Cameroonian Monseigneur Jean Bosco Ntep and the vice chairman, the Beninese Esaïe Ategbo. The two days were surely not resting days for the Board Chairman and his vice, who were able to experience CIPCRE field activities firsthand, through discussions with the staff and visits to field activities. One of the key moments of this visit was the stopover at the West Provincial Delegation of Secondary Education, a key partner in the implementation of the green contract of Promoting Civil Education Units among the Youth and the visit to the technical secondary school of Bafoussam, one of the jewels of this partnership. The MINESEC Delegate presented the partnership agreement with CIPCRE as an example of cooperation between the civil society and the decentralized services of the State. At the Technical secondary school of Bafoussam, the two visitors were able to appreciate the development of the school environment. After a fruitful exchange with the principal, the delegation, led by the Board Chairman, headed to Djemoum-quarter,commonly known as "Quartier Haoussa " because of the strong Moslem community which lives there. In this quarter, the Gender and Development Unit of CIPCRE accompanies the AIPAH (Islamic Association for the Distribution and the Humanitarian Assistance) project whose main promoter is Iman Foamed Nchamoun. It is a project for around 30 Moslem girls and women receiving training in sewing and in embroidery. According to the Imam, the project aims at contributing to the reduction of the early marriages in the community and improving the level of social integration of girls and women. These are all explanations which the Board Chairman of CIPCRE and his vice received. They were able to discover samples and finished products presented by the learners. The trainees requested assistance from the guests for their future projects of opening personal workshops with the aim of gaining financial independence after their training with AIPAH. After this stopover at the Haoussa-Quarter, the Board Chairman of CIPCRE and his vice were led by the team of the Promotion of the Local Initiatives for Development Unit to conduct a tour of three activities: an aulacodicole farm created and managed by a breeder trained and installed by CIPCRE in Bafoussam, a pig breeding project by GIC PRONAPM of Balessing and a Bansoa nursery. Everywhere they went, both administrators of CIPCRE did not miss expressing their satisfaction. Especially that the organization and the mobilization of the beneficiaries of every project allowed that the actors express themselves on their activities, which both guests of CIPCRE did not miss to raise in a synthesis meeting with all the staff of the National and General Directions. This meeting gave to the other units and cells the opportunity to make presentations of their activities. The administrators spontaneously asked questions to understand better. At the end, there were encouragements and more industriousness than the Board Chairman and his vice prescribe to the whole team of CIPCRE by promising that they will report to the Board of Directors of all that they saw and heard.
