First Forum of the young people
The fight against the traffic of the children for sexual exploitation is organised

The very first forum of the young people on the fight against the trafficking of children for sexual exploitation took place at the Bafoussam Technical High School from the 28 to September 30, 2007. Seventy (70) young colleges students and members of associations of young people, including 41 boys and 29 girls, took part in this forum whose principal objective was to give to the young people instruments that will allow them to include/understand the traffic of the children for sexual exploitation and to imagine by themselves the drafts of possible solutions.

After the opening speech by Pasteur Jean-Blaise Kenmogne, who welcomed all the young people and invited each one of them to engage in the fight against the traffic of the children for sexual exploitation.. The Theologian/philosopher, Professor Kä Mana, spoke about the basic reasons which can explain why young Cameroonians are victims of t traffic. He stressed the importance of developing a spirit of criticism among young people, their education to sexuality and the revision of attitudes with respect to poverty. He insisted on the fact that the young people build heaven here, on our premises, by developing our culture through the construction of positive imageries for the social transformation of our country.

Working sessions in workshops provided the occasion for the young people to express themselves freely on a phenomenon which has become widespread in their milieu with the daily newspaper. The young people also expressed their feelings and their proposals for a fight through poems, songs and sketches. The participants returned all very enthusiastic, ready to diffuse acquired knowledge and to fight against the traffic of the children for sexual exploitation in their milieu of life. CIPCRE also invite other young people to the next meetings, because it is important to give a voice to those that are the primarily concerned with the traffic in Cameroon.
