The promotion of ecology and citizenship in high schools and colleges in contract with CIPCRE is progressively taking shape in the West province of Cameroon. In fact, after two interventions by the General Manager to the sector at the end 2005/2006 and the beginning of 2006/2007 to respectively sign a partnership agreement with the provincial delegate of the secondary education of the west (DPESO) and make a speech on the topic: “Problem of opening school on the milieu and partnerships management strategies in the school milieu”, a workshop was co-organized by CIPCRE and DPES/O for the 8 divisional delegates that the West province has and 12 chosen school representatives among the 30 who will be accompanied by CIPCRE during the duration of the contract. That seminar had a double objective: to officially launch the operation 2nd generation Green Contract in the chosen schools, and especially to exchange with those school headmasters on the activities to be led together, the setting up of strategies and activities planning.

The workshop, co-presided by the provincial delegate of the secondary education of the West and the General Manager of CIPCRE, was held in the premises of CIPCRE on 17 October 2006. It allowed the three parties in attendance, namely provincial and divisional authorities of the secondary education, head teachers and CIPCRE, agree on the objectives and results of the program, the activities which will be undertaken within the framework of the program, the actors involved, their role and the time table for the implementation of programmes. First and foremost, it is known that the building of the capacities of actors in the school milieu on diagnosis and environmental planning and the implementation of environmental action plans; citizenship and environmental education pedagogy will be the program priorities.

December beginning will be the chosen period to start this capacity building cycle, which will start with the moderators of the program in concerned schools with a workshop on the topic: “Pedagogy of education related to environmental and environmental diagnosis in high schools and colleges.” CIPCRE and the DPESO authorities are determined to set up a sustainable operation 2nd generation Green Contract in the school milieu. »
