EVALUATORS MAKE APPRAISALS OF SOME CIPCRE FUNDED ACTIVITIES IN THE NORTH WEST REGION OF CAMEROON
During the month of May 2011, CIPCRE Cameroon received a team of two evaluators: Jules Nguebou, Cameroonian and Susanne Soure-Michel, German who were commissioned by the EED, one of CIPCRE's main funders to carry out a mid-term evaluation for the 2009-2011 three year plan. Amongst other things, these evaluators had to visit field activities, talk with field partners, CIPCRE staff and collaborators in order to have a clear image of the organization's activities and so, make valuable contributions for its progress.

Evaluators pose with CIBLO team at the end of their visit to Bamenda. |
The visit to the CIPCRE Bamenda Liaison Office CIBLO was scheduled for the 14th May 2011. This visit effectively took place and field partners in two localities were visited in Batibo and Mantum respectively. In Batibo, the evaluators talked with medicinal plant growers; visited two of their gardens as well as their drying unit where they dry their plants and expose them for visitors and potential buyers. In this locality, the medicinal plant growers invited the American Peace corps with whom we do collaborate greatly to be a part of the visit. This gave an opportunity for the evaluators to also talk with the Peace Corps and why not have their own impressions of our activities and our collaboration.
In Mantum village, the IDAAS (Integrated Development Approach Association) group was visited and the members after responding to some questions from the evaluators invited them to visit their apiary and agro forestry plot. Moved by the visit of the evaluators, the members of this group offered symbolic gifts to the two which to them is a way of keeping IDAAS always present in the minds of the evaluators wherever they go.
Prior to these visits and even after, the evaluators discussed with the CIBLO team on different issues relating mainly to their functioning; activities, difficulties/challenges and impacts. All these discussions coupled with the field visits enabled the team of evaluators to collect all the necessary information that were exploited in subsequent meetings in view of improving on the organization's output, outreach and impact.
